Rivalry in Music (Die großen Musikrivalen), Miuziklas, Biografinis, Vokietija, 2020
Rivalry in Music - Callas vs. Tebaldi Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi were the two most famous sopranos of the second half of the last century. Turned into hostile enemies by their admirers, the two became untouchable goddesses of opera. For their fans, Callas was known as "the tigress", Tebaldi as "the voice of an angel": the two singers could hardly have been more different, whether in their professional or private lives. To this day, Callas remains perhaps the greatest soprano of all time. Her rival, Tebaldi, is best known to opera lovers. Why is the posthumous fame of the two prima donnas so different? Accident: A family portrait (Accident: A family portrait), Norvegija, Čekija, 2021
Accident: A family portrait Vilde Frang violin | Francesca Amante, Nataša Novotná, Maja Dworak Strømgren, Line Tørmoen, Viktor Konvalinka, Václav Kuneš, Jo Strømgren, Rostislav Novák Sen. (dead man) Eugène-Auguste Ysaÿe: 6 Sonatas for solo violin In 'Accident', death comes unexpectedly and abruptly to a family that has recently been challenged by the pater familia's marriage to a younger woman. When he dies suddenly, perhaps in a car accident, it becomes extremely important for her to push forward a delayed plan for a family portrait. How to take a family photo where one of the members is no longer alive, and the rest of the family, apart from the young wife, struggle to hide their opposition to the whole project? It is a grotesque task for the photographer, who routinely does everything possible to create a good atmosphere in the studio for his clients. Directed by Jo Strømgren and Stein-Roger Bull 2021 |

Bruckner: Symphony No.9 - Sergiu Celibidache, Münchner Philharmoniker (Celibidache Rehearses Bruckner Symphony No.9), Vokietija, 1991
Celibidache rehearses Bruckner No. 9 Münchner Philharmoniker, Sergiu Celibidache (conductor) In his late years, Sergiu Celibidache (1912-1996) focused his attention on one particular composer: Anton Bruckner. In March 1991 he rehearsed Bruckner's Ninth in unusually long and intense sessions with the Munich Philharmonics. Using unpublished footage, this film shows the individual stages of this tantalizing process of a seemingly familiar piece being rediscovered. Again and again Celibidache interrupts the musicians to communicate his sharply articulated thoughts. Theory and practical work aren't opposed anymore. In addition to the rehearsals, the film also shows interviews with Celibidache and accompanies him to St. Florian, near Linz in Upper Austria, where Bruckner was buried. La Típica Melingo - Banlieues Bleues (La Típica Melingo - Banlieues Bleues), Prancūzija, 2022
LA TÍPICA MELINGO Recorded at the Nouveau Théâtre de Montreuil, April 13th, 2022 The iconoclast Melingo revisits his cursed tangos with a large orchestra typical of the balls of the 40s in Buenos Aires. He is one of the most fascinating artists of the Argentinean scene. Singer and actor with a hoarse voice, Melingo oscillates on stage between Charlie Chaplin and Tom Waits, and reinvests since a long time the field of the tango, that of the underworld and the bad boys, with sharpened texts , that he propels in the current events. "My role, as an artist, is to put in poetry and in music the forgotten of the society". He returns to Banlieues Bleues with the Orquesta Típica, directed by Maestro Juan Pablo Gallardo, who has arranged the music of the Maestro by reproducing, with a very feminized team, the historical format of the orchestras that made the whole of Buenos Aires dance in the 1940s. Melingo singing, clarinet Orquesta Típica : Romain Lecuyer double bass, Juan Pablo Gallardo piano, musical direction, Andrea Pujado violin, Anne Le Pape violin, Aurélie Gallois violin, Line Kruse violin, Marion Chiron bandoneon, Carmela Delgado bandoneon, Facundo Torres bandoneon Directed by Gilles Le Mao |

The life I love - The pianist Menahem Pressler (Der Pianist Menahem Pressler - "Das Leben, das ich liebe"), Miuziklas, Biografinis, Vokietija, 2014
The life I love - The pianist Menahem Pressler The music world has known Menahem Pressler for more than half a century and mainly for his work with the famous Beaux Arts Trio. He was the heart of this ensemble and when in 2008 the trio decided to separate, it was not the end for Menahem Pressler's career - in fact it was the start of a most remarkable and successful path as a soloist and in 2013, the 90-year-old grand seigneur of the piano gave his long overdue debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker. In 'The life I love - the pianist Menahem Pressler', from talks with Pressler over excerpts from one of his Master Classes, to interviews with artists like Daniel Harding, Quatuor Ébène, Leonidas Kavakos or Daniel Hope, we will gain deep insights into the life of this enchantingly "venerable prodigy". Menahem Pressler died on May 6, 2023 Directed by Grete Liffers 2014 |
