Rivalry in Music - Callas vs. Tebaldi Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi were the two most famous sopranos of the second half of the last century. Turned into hostile enemies by their admirers, the two became untouchable goddesses of opera. For their fans, Callas was known as "the tigress", Tebaldi as "the voice of an angel": the two singers could hardly have been more different, whether in their professional or private lives. To this day, Callas remains perhaps the greatest soprano of all time. Her rival, Tebaldi, is best known to opera lovers. Why is the posthumous fame of the two prima donnas so different? Magic Moments of Music: Sergiu Celibidache & the Berliner Philharmoniker Directed by Holger Preuse and Philipp Quiring

Celibidache rehearses Bruckner No. 9 Münchner Philharmoniker, Sergiu Celibidache (conductor) In his late years, Sergiu Celibidache (1912-1996) focused his attention on one particular composer: Anton Bruckner. In March 1991 he rehearsed Bruckner's Ninth in unusually long and intense sessions with the Munich Philharmonics. Using unpublished footage, this film shows the individual stages of this tantalizing process of a seemingly familiar piece being rediscovered. Again and again Celibidache interrupts the musicians to communicate his sharply articulated thoughts. Theory and practical work aren't opposed anymore. In addition to the rehearsals, the film also shows interviews with Celibidache and accompanies him to St. Florian, near Linz in Upper Austria, where Bruckner was buried. LA TÍPICA MELINGO Recorded at the Nouveau Théâtre de Montreuil, April 13th, 2022 The iconoclast Melingo revisits his cursed tangos with a large orchestra typical of the balls of the 40s in Buenos Aires. The life I love - The pianist Menahem Pressler The music world has known Menahem Pressler for more than half a century and mainly for his work with the famous Beaux Arts Trio.
